About Us
Our team is led by two brothers with a passion for web-based technology.
Located in both the United States and Canada, the very core of our
business relies on the communication and collaboration made possible
by the web.
Jerod Venema
COO and Co-Founder
Jerod is the face of the company, responsible for maintaining the day-to-day
operations and long-term vision for Frozen Mountain. His knowledge of web applications and the
software development lifecycle is only surpassed by his passion for customer care.
Before joining Frozen Mountain, Jerod worked as a senior project manager, senior software developer,
and application architect for a variety of companies including DuPont, Siemens, and Prosperity
Software Solutions. Jerod has been active in the open-source development community for several years,
contributing to projects such as
script.aculo.us,
Prototype, and the
Dojo Toolkit. He holds two engineering degrees
from North Carolina State University.
With over 11 years in the field, Jerod's
knowledge and experience are invaluable in guiding the direction of the company.
Anton Venema
CTO and Co-Founder
As the technical visionary, Anton is responsible for ensuring that Frozen Mountain's products and services
exceed the needs of today and predict the needs of tomorrow. His technological intuition, vast knowledge base,
and extensive academic background provide a strong foundation upon which Frozen Mountain's innovation can thrive.
Anton joined Frozen Mountain after many years of working as a freelance technical consultant for numerous
companies, including Siemens and the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science. His professional
career in developing web-based applications started in high school before any formal training. He now holds a joint
degree in Computing Science and Linguistics, with a focus in statistical algorithms and computational linguistics.
After working in the field for over 7 years, Anton has the expertise necessary to guide
a company on the forefront of emerging technologies.
Programming is a craft, an art form. Programmers are part listener, part advisor, part interpreter, and part dictator. We try to
capture elusive requirements, document difficult specifications, and engineer solid foundations.
What's more, we do all this against the relentless ticking of the project clock.
We work small miracles every day.
